Available For Sponsorship

Every sponsor we have for the animals in our care, makes a huge impact!

Consistent support allows our animals to continue to have full bellies and all the extra goodies they need day to day. The average cost per horse per month does vary - it may take a team of donators to cover their costs, or one. For you, you can choose the amount that best fits your budget.

Brumby

Billy

Billy was struggling with behavioural issues that was making it challenging for his past owner, who was left with limited options. Billy is now recovered however does still need time and patience.
Current Status: Sanctuary

Thoroughbred

Dawny

Dawny's mum, Damascus Dawn was rescued by Shannon, as she was no longer needed in the Stud's operation, Dawny was in utero. Devastatingly, Dawny's mum passed at birth. She was handraised by Gav, Shannon and Ayla.
Current Status: Sanctuary

Brumby

Slyvia

Rescued via trapping (Parks) by MBS. Now resides at Herd On The Ridge, she is a vibrant girl and very thankful for her domestic life.
Current Status: Sanctuary

Thoroughbred x Quarterhorse
(Nanny foal - mare is bred and has a foal, however foal is taken and mare is sent to usually a Thoroughbred foal without a mum - leaving horses like Amber to be handraised.

Amber

Amber was sent to Shannon as she was attacking her humans, charging with mouth open and ears back. Amber was feeling unheard, and with time Shannon has brought Amber so far. She is now approachable if you are respectful of her. She enjoys love and even rides!
Current Status: Sanctuary

Shetland

Pando

Pando arrived very avoidant of people, he was originally not a rescue, however it turned out he had lived a life of being misunderstood, which is so common for these little guys. It has taken Shannon a lot of time to be able to approach Pando without him feeling he should flee, he is still gaining trust with other people. Though once caught he ADORES the interaction.
Current Status: Sanctuary

Unknown (suspected Arab / Arab x)

Poppy

Due to privacy reasons and the gravity of the situation, sadly we can't share the exact circumstances of Poppy. However, she came from an extremely dire situation where it was certain she would not live much longer, she was sadly also an orphan.
Current Status: Sanctuary

Thoroughbred

Felix

An agistment situation in which he was left. Felix arrived pretty shut down and needing plenty of TLC. He has given humans so much in his life, and we are very grateful to repay him for this in sanctuary. He has also adopted a pig, who is his best friend (he raised the pig - Rico).

Thoroughbred

Rocky - Gunna Fly Now

Despite his registered name, Rocky never flew. He was put into training to race, however he cut every single leg severely before every trial. We met and knew Rocky all through his younger life, however once it was deemed he was unsuited to racing, we took him in. He came to us with plenty of quirks, he windsucks, gets very anxious, and is very untrusting of his ears being touched or mane being brushed. We don't know what happened to beautiful Rocky in those stables, but he doesn't forget.

Thoroughbred

Swaybe

Swaybe originating from the same Thoroughbred Stud as Dawny. Due to having Lordosis (or sway back) this deemed him unsuitable to race. Therefore, he needed sanctuary.
Whilist Lordosis is liveable and thriveable for a horse, his severity means he will never be ridden. Though he will live out his days in safety.

Pig

Rico

Rico was an orphan seperated from his mother who was likely killed via hunting. He escaped the likely fate or being used to train pups. Shannon raised him from a little piglet, and then Felix took over the rest. Rico LOVES pumpkin, and a splash.

Stockhorse

Rusty

After running into some behavioural issues, Rusty had very limited options. We haven't experienced any issues with Rusty, and he's very loving but sanctuary life does not carry many expectations. He is quite an aged boy. As sweet as can be, and LOVES humans.

Standardbred x Thoroughbred
(Nanny foal - please read Amber to understand definition)

Moony

All those years ago, Moony arrived as a poddy foal with a broken jaw, whom was of "no value" to anyone as her mother was needed for a more expensive foal, she was going to be shot.
These days, Moony has had a very fulfilling life so prefers to laze around and lap up some pats.

Brumby x

Buddy

Buddy arrived a terrified colt, unhandled and seemingly carrying trauma.
He is still very weary of people, however now gelded and more entrusting of people.
Buddy still has a long way to go, but he's absoutely gorgeous and a willing learner.

Brumby (Bago)

Lugh

Lugh's owner simply wanted the best for Lugh, and it wasn't the right match. Sometimes that happens in life, and it's a beautiful moment when that person ensures they end up in safe hands. Lugh is VERY food oreinatated but all-round good boy.

Stockhorse

Sunny

Bred on acerage, an unhandled terrified colt, bred in captivity but not having any of the privelge to handling. When he was mustered in for a dispersal sale, it was all he knew of humans. His fate was unknown. Thankfully, he found guaranteed safety with us!
